Studies on the transmission of the virus and new containment, protection and disinfection measures
To determine the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and verify the effectiveness of current water disinfection practices.
The SARS-CoV-2 could be transmitted through the faecal-oral route (it has been detected in stool samples from patients suffering from COVID-19).
Objectives: (i) to determine the presence of potentially infectious SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater treatment plants and (ii) to verify the efficacy of current water disinfection practices for coronavirus inactivation.
